Response to consultation on ‘Fire and rescue services draft inspection programme and framework commencing January 2023’

We measure fire and rescue services against the ‘characteristics of good performance’. This framework describes the levels of performance needed for a service to achieve a grade of ‘good’.

Child protection  — 

This report is a summary of the findings of our inspection of police child protection services in Suffolk, which took place in July 2022.

Cause of concern, Letter, PEEL  — 

During our inspection of Wiltshire Police between 17 January and 11 February 2022 as part of our PEEL programme, we identified three causes of concern. This letter gives an update on our findings. 

Super-complaint  — 

HMICFRS, the College of Policing and the Independent Office for Police Conduct have published a report in response to the super-complaint  from the Tees Valley Inclusion Project about how the police respond to victims of sexual abuse when the victim is from an ethnic minority background and may be at risk of honour-based abuse.

Child protection  — 

This national child protection inspection reviewed the progress made by Cambridgeshire Constabulary since the publication of our last report for Cambridgeshire in 2021.

Homicide  — 

HMICFRS will carry out a thematic inspection of homicide prevention, jointly supported by the National Police Chiefs’ Council, the College of Policing and the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

PEEL, Regional Organised Crime Units, Serious and organised crime  — 

As part of our PEEL inspections, we inspected how well police forces tackle serious and organised crime.

Digital, National report  — 

In this inspection, we examined the provision of digital forensics in police forces and regional organised crime units.

Effectiveness, Efficiency, Legitimacy, PEEL  — 

PEEL is HMICFRS’s assessment of police forces in England and Wales. PEEL stands for police effectiveness, efficiency, and legitimacy. This report sets out the findings for Humberside Police.
