Report on Hestia’s super-complaint on the police response to victims of modern slavery
Part of: Specific reviews
Super-complaints provide a voice for designated bodies to raise concerns on behalf of the public about patterns or trends in policing that are, or appear to be, significantly harming the interests of the public.
On 31 May 2019 we received a super-complaint from Hestia. This super-complaint is about the policies and practices of the police forces in England and Wales, and the standard of support that victims of modern slavery receive.
This super-complaint raised several concerns about the police response to victims of modern slavery.
Our main findings are grouped into five areas. Based on these findings, we outline recommendations to police and crime commissioners, chief constables and the Home Office.
