Recordable conduct matter
A conduct matter is recordable if the alleged behaviour:
- appears to have resulted in a person’s death or serious injury;
- has negatively affected a member of the public; or
- matches any of the conduct listed in regulation 7 of The Police (Complaints and Misconduct) Regulations 2020, such as serious assaults, serious sexual offences, serious corruption, and criminal offences or misconduct behaviour that involves discriminatory behaviour.
The appropriate authority formally records the matter and handles it according to the requirements of the Police Reform Act 2002.
