Custody suites  — 

This report describes our findings following an inspection of Kent Police custody facilities. The inspection was conducted jointly by HM Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) and HM Inspectorate of Prisons (HMIP) in July 2021. It is part of our programme of inspections covering every police custody suite in England and Wales.

Joint inspection, Mental health  — 

Between April and May 2021, Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Probation – supported by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services, Her Majesty’s Crown Prosecution Service Inspectorate, Care Quality Commission, Healthcare Inspectorate Wales and Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Prisons – carried out a joint thematic inspection.

This report sets out findings from our inspection of how effectively the police respond to violence against women and girls (VAWG) offences.

Child protection  — 

This inspection reviewed the progress made in Kent Police since the publication of Kent – National Child Protection Inspection in 2019. It is part of a rolling programme of inspections of all police forces in England and Wales.

Domestic abuse, Super-complaint  — 

On 19 March 2019, the Centre for Women’s Justice made a super-complaint to HMICFRS. This super-complaint is about the police’s alleged failure to use protective measures to safeguard women and girls.

In 2018, the Home Secretary commissioned HMICFRS to carry out a thematic inspection of fraud. This report sets out the findings of our revisit of the 2018 inspection.
