On 20 August 2015, Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Sue Mountstevens requested the views of HM Chief Inspector of Constabulary Sir Thomas Winsor on her proposal to require Chief Constable Nick Gargan to resign. As is required under section 38 of the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 and regulation 11A of the Police Regulations 2003, he provided these views in a report, which the PCC has now published.
