Cyber  — 

HMICFRS inspected how the police and the National Crime Agency deal with the threat presented by cyber-dependent crime and the wide range of criminals that commit it.

Custody suites  — 

This inspection into Durham Police is one of a series on police custody inspections carried out jointly by HMI Prisons and HMICFRS.

HMICFRS commissioned the University of South Wales to carry out a Rapid Evidence Assessment, examining the current state of research evidence on gang-related homicide and police corruption in Trinidad and Tobago.

Child protection  — 

This inspection examined child protection in North Wales Police in July 2019. It is part of a rolling programme of inspections of all police forces in England and Wales.

In November 2015, HMICFRS announced that it would inspect forces’ crime-recording practices in a rolling programme of every force in England and Wales. This rolling programme will be completed over a period of several years and will report on the progress made by forces since the 2014 crime data integrity inspection. This report sets out the findings of an inspection of West Mercia Police.

Crime recording  — 

In 2017, Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) conducted a crime data integrity inspection of North Yorkshire Police. HMICFRS published the report of this inspection in February 2018 and concluded that the crime-recording arrangements in the force were not acceptable. The 2018 report made a series of recommendations and areas for improvement aimed at improving crime-recording in North Yorkshire. This re-inspection assessed the progress made since that report.

This inspection into South Yorkshire Police is one of a series on police custody inspections carried out jointly by HMI Prisons and HMICFRS. The programme looks at strategy, treatment and conditions, individual rights and health care. It also contributes to the UK’s response to its international obligation to ensure regular and independent inspection of all places of detention.
