Victim blaming

Any language, attitude or behaviour that explicitly shows or implies that a victim is responsible for abuse that they have experienced.

Whether intentional or unintentional, it can cause serious harm to a victim. It can make them feel as if they are complicit or responsible for their abuser’s actions and increase feelings of shame and guilt.
