Public order public safety training
There are three levels of competency training of police public order public safety provided to officers in England and Wales.
Level 1 isn’t recognised within the College of Policing training curriculum. But it is sometimes mentioned when designating officers employed full-time in public order public safety roles.
Level 2 officers are trained and accredited so they can implement the full range of tactics according to the College of Policing’s national curriculum.
Level 3 patrol officers have received some training in managing passive or compliant crowd control and management tactics in public order public safety scenarios that don’t require enhanced use of personal protective equipment. They aren’t trained according to the full College of Policing curriculum.
