Serious and organised crime (SOC) investigation team

A specialist unit that most forces have to investigate offenders who commit serious and organised crime (SOC). Generally, officers in this team will be trained detectives and managed by a specialist SOC senior investigating officer.

The skills of investigators in these teams will vary, but may include specialist surveillance officers.  Forces call these teams by different names. For example, they may call it the SOC unit or the SOC investigation team.
