Effectiveness, Mental health —
This report sets out our findings from an inspection into how effectively the police respond to and support people with mental health problems.
Child protection, Joint inspection —
Ofsted, the Care Quality Commission, HMICFRS and HMI Probation, examined the multi-agency response to older child exploitation and children missing from home, care or education. This builds on findings from the 2016 report, ‘Time to listen’ – a joined up response to child sexual exploitation and missing children’.
Child protection —
Protecting children is one of the most important tasks the police undertake. Only the police can investigate suspected crimes, arrest perpetrators and monitor sex offenders. Police officers have the power to take a child who is in danger into a place of safety, or to seek an order to restrict an offender’s contact with children. The police service also has a significant role working with other agencies to ensure the child’s protection and well-being, longer term. This is the report of an inspection of Sussex Police.
