The way that Lancashire Constabulary records crime has shown a marked improvement since 2017, according to a report released today by HMICFRS.

In 2017, HMICFRS conducted a crime data integrity inspection of Lancashire Constabulary. HMICFRS published the report of this inspection in November 2017 and concluded that the crime-recording arrangements in the force were not acceptable. The 2017 report made a series of recommendations and areas for improvement aimed at improving crime-recording in Lancashire. This re-inspection assessed the progress made since that report.
