Legitimacy, PEEL, Spotlight —
This report provides a national picture of abuse of position for a sexual purpose in police forces, drawing on the finalised findings from the 29 forces in the first two tranches of our integrated PEEL assessments, and the early findings from the third and final tranche of forces.
Speech —
Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector was invited to speak at the Police Superintendent’s Association of England and Wales annual conference 2019. The title of the speech was ‘Criminal justice – the strains and opportunities we now face’.
Child protection —
This inspection examined child protection in Kent Police in April 2019. It is part of a rolling programme of inspections of all police forces in England and Wales.
Joint inspection, Leadership —
HMICFRS and HM Inspectorate of Constabulary in Scotland (HMICS) carried out a joint inspection to determine how effectively police forces select and train candidates for chief officer roles.
