Inspection of the National Crime Agency – Terms of reference

Summary

The Crime and Courts Act 2013, requires Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) to inspect the efficiency and effectiveness of the National Crime Agency (NCA). The Secretary of State can also request that HMIC inspects the NCA in respect of a particular matter.

The NCA became operational in October 2013 and this is the first HMIC inspection of the new agency.
