There are approximately 40,000 crimes reported annually, with demand around violent crime, theft and arson and criminal damage. The FCR receives around 100,000 incidents per year.

The revenue budget for 2023/24 is £145.8m, funded 52% by government grant and 48% by local Council Tax. The 2023/24 budget assumes establishment for officers and staff of 2,349 FTE (full time equivalent).

Operational teams include dedicated neighbourhood policing, force response units, local policing investigation and dedicated crime management functions working in partnership with the force control room. Supported by a centralised custody suite, investigations facility, digital and public protection hubs, including a MASH. The crime harm reduction team with local partnerships work to tackle gang violence and anti-social behaviour, and safeguard vulnerable people (e.g. Project Solace, Aston Project).
