HMICFRS response to consultation on ‘Fire and rescue services draft inspection programme and framework commencing June 2025’
Earlier this year, we ran a public consultation on our draft fire and rescue service (FRS) inspection programme and framework commencing June 2025. The consultation ran for 4 weeks from 19 August 2024 to 15 September 2024.
In our consultation, we asked for views on whether the proposed programme covered the right areas of fire and rescue. We requested responses to eight specific consultation questions.
We received 61 responses:
- 44 from FRSs, or those who work in them;
- 5 from fire and rescue authorities;
- 2 from trade unions;
- 5 from other organisations;
- 1 from an academic; and
- 4 from members of the public.
We also received ten responses from members of HM Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services staff.
We have now published our responses.
