About Trinidad and Tobago Police Service

The republic of Trinidad and Tobago is a commonwealth country. It is the southernmost island country in the Caribbean, seven miles off the coast of Venezuela. It is a two-island nation with Trinidad being the larger. It has an ethnically diverse population, the majority of whom are of African and Indian decent.

TTPS is a civil and para-military body. There are over 6,500 police officers working within nine different divisions.

The police force serves a population of approximately 1.4 million. Just over half the population lives in an urban setting.
