Inspection of the police’s handling of serious youth violence

Part of: Protecting people from violence and abuse Victims and resolutions

In March 2023, HMICFRS published a thematic inspection of how well police address serious youth violence to reduce violent crime involving young people (particularly between the ages of 16 to 24 years).

We also commissioned User Voice to conduct research on the lived experience of those who have committed, and been on the receiving end, of serious youth violence. This research report was published alongside the thematic inspection.
