About the service
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service covers a region that includes several large urban areas such as Chichester, Crawley, Worthing and Horsham.
The service’s main duties are firefighting, protecting people and property from fire, promoting fire safety and rescuing people from road traffic collisions.
Its firefighters also respond to emergencies outside West Sussex, assisting in both national and international search and rescue operations.
There are 25 stations in the county.
