About the service
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service provides an emergency response service to safeguard almost one million people every day, across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
The service has 20 fire & rescue stations within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Each one is equipped and crewed to enable effective provision of emergency services in times of need, and to undertake prevention and education within the community.
Its fire & rescue stations also forge links with other organisations and associations to target vulnerable members of the community in relation to reducing domestic fires and their consequences.
The command and control suite deals with about 15,000 calls each year, resulting in an average of 8,000 actual emergency incidents each year.
