Freedom of information disclosure log
As of June 2025, our approach to publishing responses to requests made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 has changed. We now publish requests related to our work when it’s in the public interest, as this helps people better understand our decisions and ensures we are accountable for how we make decisions and use public funds.
HMICFRS disclosure log
The HMICFRS disclosure log contains responses to requests that have been made under the Freedom of Information Act which we consider to be of wider public interest.

Exemptions applied:
Some parts of the report are exempt from disclosure under sections 24(1), 31(1)(a) and (b) and 38(1)(b) (safety of an individual) of the FOI Act and have been redacted. These exemptions provide that information can be withheld if it is required for the purposes of safeguarding national security (section 24(1)), would be likely to prejudice the prevention and detection of crime and the apprehension of offenders (section 31(1)(a)(b)) and would be likely the endanger the safety of an individual (section 38(1)(b)).
Exempt information
Some information we hold is exempt from disclosure, meaning we do not publish this information or provide it under the Act. Generally, this is information that would prejudice our work as an inspectorate.
